About PixelTools
PixelTools is a free collection of 48 tools for working with images, video, audio and PDFs. There is no account, no watermark, no paywall and no upload.
Your files never leave your device
This is the part worth being specific about, because plenty of sites say “private” and mean “we delete your file an hour after you upload it.”
PixelTools does not upload anything. Every tool runs as code inside your own browser tab — image work through the Canvas API, video and audio through ffmpeg compiled to WebAssembly, PDFs through pdf-lib and pdf.js. When you drop a file onto a tool, it is read into your browser’s memory and processed there. It is never transmitted to us, because there is nothing on our side to transmit it to.
A practical consequence: turn off your internet connection after the page loads and the tools still work. Another: we could not hand over your files if we were asked to, because we never had them.
Why it’s free
Because it costs us almost nothing to run. The work happens on your computer, not on a server we have to pay for, so there is no per-file cost to recover. There are no ads on the site today; we may add them later to keep it free, and we’ll say so plainly if that changes. We do not sell data — see the privacy policy for exactly what is and isn’t collected.
What we don’t do
- No accounts, and no email address required to use a tool.
- No watermarks on anything you produce.
- No file size limits imposed to sell you an upgrade. The real limits are your device’s memory, and we say so when you hit one.
- No tools that pull content from someone else’s platform. You convert files you already have.
Who runs it
PixelTools is an independent project based in France, run by a small team. It is not affiliated with any other product or company using the PixelTools name. If something is broken, wrong, or missing, tell us — it’s a small operation and messages are read.
