Privacy Policy

The short version
The files you open in a PixelTools tool are never sent to us. They are processed inside your own browser and stay on your device. We collect anonymous usage statistics about pages and features, and we show ads. We do not sell personal data, and you do not need an account.
Your files: not collected, at all
Every tool on this site runs client-side. When you select an image, video, audio file or PDF, your browser reads it into local memory and the conversion or edit happens there, using code already downloaded to your device. The file is not transmitted to PixelTools, and it is not transmitted to any third party.
We therefore do not store your files, cannot access them, do not scan them, and have nothing to delete on request — there is no copy on our side at any point.
Your file and its output are discarded from browser memory when you close or reload the tab.
What we do collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand which tools people use and where they run into problems. It records things like the page visited, approximate location (country/city level, derived from IP), device and browser type, referring site, and events such as “a conversion completed”. It does not record the contents, names or sizes of your files.
Advertising: none, currently. PixelTools does not serve ads today and no advertising or ad-measurement cookies are set. We may introduce advertising in future to keep the site free. If we do, this policy will be updated before any ad code goes live, and where the law requires consent for advertising cookies it will be asked for first.
Preferences stored on your device. Some settings — your theme, and your analytics opt-out — are kept in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Turning analytics off
You can opt out right here. The setting is stored locally in this browser and applies immediately; clearing your browser storage resets it.
Analytics on this browser
Anonymous usage analytics. No file contents are ever included.
Your browser’s own controls — blocking third-party cookies, or an ad blocker — also work here, and nothing on the site is gated behind allowing them.
Your rights
If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, the GDPR gives you the right to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
In practice we hold very little about you: no account, no email address, no uploaded files. The analytics data we hold is anonymous and not linked to an identity we could look you up by. If you want to exercise a right or ask what is held, get in touch and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
PixelTools is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, the “last updated” date above changes with it. Continuing to use the site after that means you accept the revised policy.
