Is this QR code generator really free?

Do these QR codes expire or stop working?

No. This generates a static QR code — the content is encoded directly into the pattern itself, not a redirect through someone else's server. It will keep working for as long as the content it points to (a URL, a phone number) stays valid, with no expiration and no tracking.
Will adding a logo stop my QR code from scanning?

Not if you keep the logo reasonably sized. Adding a logo automatically switches the code to its highest error-correction level, which can recover the code even with roughly 30% of it obscured — comfortably more than a centered logo covers at the default size. Very long content combined with a large logo can still be too much; the tool warns you if that happens.
What's the difference between PNG, SVG, and PDF?

PNG is a fixed-resolution image — good for web use and most printing. SVG is vector — it scales to any size (a billboard, a tiny product label) with no loss of quality, and is the better choice if you'll resize it later. PDF wraps the code on a print-ready page.
Can I make a QR code for Wi-Fi or a contact card?

Yes. Pick "Wi-Fi network" and a phone or laptop's camera can join the network directly by scanning — no typing a password. "Contact card" produces a code that adds the person's details straight to a phone's contacts app when scanned.

What size should I download for printing?

For print, download the SVG (scales losslessly to any size) or the largest PNG option. As a rule of thumb, a QR code should be at least 1 inch (2-3cm) per side for a close-range scan, and larger the further away the scanner will stand.
