What is the difference between a quote and an estimate?

A quote is a fixed price you commit to for a defined scope, usually valid until a set date. An estimate is an approximate cost that can change once work starts. If your price is not firm, use the Estimate Generator instead.
Is a quote legally binding?

It can be. Once a customer accepts a quote, many places treat it as an offer you agreed to honor, so put the scope, price, and the Valid until date in writing. Check the rules where you operate if the job is large.
Can I add tax or a discount?
