Frequently asked questions
What does a case converter do?
+
It changes the capitalization of text without retyping it. Turn a shouting ALL CAPS paragraph into normal sentences, a headline into Title Case, or a plain phrase into a code-friendly name like user_first_name.
What is the difference between Title Case and Sentence case?
+
Title Case capitalizes the first letter of every word (The Quick Brown Fox). Sentence case only capitalizes the first letter of each sentence, the way normal writing works (The quick brown fox). This tool capitalizes every word in Title Case and does not skip small words like "of" or "the", so check headlines against your style guide.
What are camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case and kebab-case?
+
They are naming styles for code. camelCase joins words with each one after the first capitalized (userFirstName). PascalCase capitalizes every word (UserFirstName). snake_case uses lowercase words joined by underscores (user_first_name). kebab-case uses lowercase words joined by hyphens (user-first-name).
Can it convert between code styles, like camelCase to snake_case?
+
Yes. Paste myVariableName and choose snake_case to get my_variable_name. The tool detects word boundaries from capital letters, spaces, hyphens and underscores, so it works from any of the styles to any other.
Does it keep my line breaks?
+
Yes. Every line is converted separately, so a pasted list of names keeps one result per line. In the code styles, each line becomes its own identifier.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
+
No. Everything runs in your browser, so nothing you type is sent to a server.
