How do I remove line breaks from text?

Why does text copied from a PDF have line breaks in the middle of sentences?

A PDF stores text as separate lines that fit the page width, so copying it brings a hard line break at the end of every line. Joining the lines with a space restores normal paragraphs.
Can I remove line breaks but keep paragraphs?

Yes. Turn on Keep paragraph breaks. A blank line between two blocks of text is treated as a paragraph break and kept, while the single line breaks inside each paragraph are removed.
Should I replace line breaks with a space or with nothing?

Use a space for normal prose, so words do not run together. Use nothing when the lines were split mid-word or mid-string, for example a long code, token or number wrapped over several lines.
Does it handle Windows and Mac line endings?

Yes. It treats Windows (\r\n), Unix (\n), classic Mac (\r) and the Unicode line and paragraph separators as line breaks, so pasted text behaves the same wherever it came from.
