What does tolerance do?

Tolerance sets how close a shade must be to the picked color to be replaced. At 0% only the exact color changes. Higher values also change similar shades, which helps with anti-aliased edges and slightly noisy backgrounds. Too high a value starts to replace unrelated colors.
Can I make a color transparent?

Yes. Tick Make it transparent instead and every matching pixel becomes fully transparent. The download is a PNG so the transparency is kept.
Why are some edges still showing the old color?

Smooth edges blend two colors, so those pixels are slightly different from the picked color. Raise the tolerance a little until the fringe disappears.
Does this work on photos?

It works best on flat graphics, logos, icons, and screenshots, where one color covers a clear area. Photos have many shades of every color, so a single pick only changes part of a region, and results can look patchy.
Can I change the color of a whole image or recolor it with AI?

No. This tool replaces one chosen color at a time. It does not shift every color or use AI. To flip every color at once, use the invert image tool.
