What does the detail level control?

What does 'simplify' do?

It drops very short, stray paths that usually come from compression artifacts or anti-aliasing rather than real detail in the image, producing a cleaner result.
Is there a size limit on the image I can trace?

Very large images are automatically downscaled before tracing (capped at 800px on the longest side) so the conversion stays fast. This doesn't hurt quality for the flat-color art this tool is built for — logos and icons rarely need more detail than that to trace cleanly.
