Supports SVG files
Everything you need to optimize SVG files online
Real SVG optimization
Runs SVGO, the same optimizer used by most build tools. It removes editor metadata, comments, hidden elements and unused definitions, then shortens paths and numbers.
One click, no config
No wall of toggles. Pick Safe or Smallest and download. Most files shrink by a third or more, and files exported from Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape often shrink much further.
Before and after, side by side
See the original and optimized SVG rendered next to each other with exact file sizes, so you can confirm nothing changed before you download.
Safe mode keeps scaling intact
Safe mode always keeps the viewBox and your ids, so the SVG still scales the same and any CSS or JavaScript that targets it keeps working.
100% private
Your SVG is optimized on your device. Nothing is uploaded, which matters for unreleased logos and client artwork.
Works on any device
Fully responsive, with no install and no account. Open pixeltools.io/svg-optimizer on a laptop or a phone.
Three steps to a smaller SVG
- 1
Add your SVG
Drag and drop an SVG file onto the page, click to browse, or paste it. The file is read in your browser and never uploaded.
- 2
Check the result
The optimized SVG appears next to the original, with both file sizes and the percentage saved. Switch between Safe and Smallest if you want to trade a little compatibility for size.
- 3
Download the smaller SVG
Download the optimized file as name.min.svg. It renders the same as the original, so you can drop it straight into your site or app.
Built for developers, designers, and site owners
Whether you are speeding up a website, cleaning up a design export, or trimming an icon set, PixelTools shrinks your SVG instantly with no upload required.
Faster websites
Inline and icon SVGs add up. Shrinking them cuts page weight and helps pages load faster, especially on mobile connections.
Cleaning design exports
SVGs exported from Illustrator, Figma, Sketch or Inkscape carry editor metadata, comments and verbose paths. Optimizing strips the extras before you ship.
Smaller repos and bundles
Run icon sets and illustrations through the optimizer before committing them, so your repository and JavaScript bundle stay lean.
Email and embed limits
Some platforms cap file size for logos and uploads. Compressing the SVG often gets it under the limit without turning it into a blurry raster image.
Frequently asked questions
Is the SVG optimizer free?
+
Yes, completely free with no limits. No account, no subscription, no watermark.
Does optimizing an SVG upload it to a server?
+
No. The optimization runs in your browser, so your file never leaves your device.
How do I optimize an SVG file?
+
Drop your SVG onto the page. It is optimized right away. Compare it with the original, then download the smaller file.
How much smaller will my SVG get?
+
It depends on where the file came from. SVGs exported from design tools often shrink by 30 to 70 percent because of editor metadata and verbose paths. A file that is already hand-tuned may barely shrink, and the tool will tell you so instead of giving you a bigger file.
Will optimizing change how my SVG looks?
+
Not in normal use. Safe mode keeps the viewBox and ids and rounds coordinates to 3 decimals, which is invisible at any normal size. Smallest rounds to 2 decimals and shortens ids. Always check the side-by-side preview before downloading.
What is the difference between Safe and Smallest?
+
Safe keeps ids, so CSS, animations and scripts that target them keep working. Smallest also renames and shortens ids for a few extra bytes of savings, which can break anything that refers to them by name.
What is the difference between an SVG optimizer, compressor and minifier?
+
They mean the same thing for SVG. An SVG is text, so there is no lossy compression like a JPG. Optimizing, compressing and minifying all mean removing what the file doesn't need and writing the rest more compactly.
Can I compress a PNG or JPG with this tool?
+
No, this tool only handles SVG files. To shrink a PNG, JPG or WebP, use the Compress image tool.
