What is an RW2 file?

RW2 is the RAW format of Panasonic Lumix cameras, including the G, GH, FZ and full-frame S series. It holds the camera's untouched sensor data, so ordinary photo apps cannot display it.
Which Lumix cameras work?

We tested a GH5 RW2 at its full 5208 by 3904 pixels. Other Lumix bodies use the same format family, so they are expected to work too.
Does it handle Micro Four Thirds files?

Yes. The decoder reads the sensor layout and crop from the file, so MFT and full-frame RW2s both come out at the right size.
Why does the JPG look different from my Lumix preview?

Photo Styles such as Standard or V-Log L are applied by Panasonic's own tools. Here the file is developed with your white balance and a neutral sRGB curve, a clean base for editing.
